My name is Nick. I spent most of my 20’s absent-mindedly bouncing between jobs while somehow graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Augsburg College. I will be finishing up my Master’s in Business Administration at the same college at the end of the summer 2017 and what happens afterwards is, frankly, anyone’s guess at this point but with my schedule soon to be less cluttered, I’ll have more free-time on my hands.
Prior to starting up The Sheltered Gallivant, I ran a blog dedicated to craft beer, but after nearly 4 years of doing that, I wanted to change my primary focus to something different and that would be travel. In fact, part of the reason why I decided to start this website was because my love of craft beer took me to places I had never been before.
I had never had a passport before in my life prior to starting this website. In fact, I’ve never seen most of the United States, let alone been outside it and I think that’s what sets me apart from everyone else: that I’m seeing the world through a fresh set of eyes. Yet despite my naivety, I feel that my desire & eagerness to explore and write about that places I go will be the fuel that keeps me going. For me, I view each trip as a venture into uncharted territory and a chance to learn something new. paired with some occasional humor.
